East Neuk Beach Crafts

Louise Stocker of East Neuk Beach Crafts creates quirky beach art using the natural resources of the local beaches.

These cheerful seaside and coastal scenes are available as framed collages or rustic driftwood ornaments, alongside greetings cards, mugs and coasters. A range of handmade jewellery is also available, made from beautiful antique beach pottery, sea glass and shells.

The sandy beaches and rocky coves of the East Neuk offer up the most incredible beach-combing, especially antique beach pottery; small shards of broken china and stoneware that have been tumbled in the sea and often date back over 100 years, when Kirkcaldy was at the heart of the Scottish pottery industry.

The art of East Neuk Beach Crafts uses elements that are synonymous with the local villages, in particular the local wildlife; puffins, seagulls and whales, alongside boats, lighthouses and colourful little fisherman’s cottages. Using naturally sourced sea-worn materials, with their varying colours, shapes and grains, ensures each piece of art is entirely unique, a tiny piece of Fife history and a perfect memento of the East Neuk.
